Specialist Dietitian - Nutri-Licious

Reena Soniassy is an accomplished clinical, community and academic dietitian with over 18 years of international experience spanning Australia, New Zealand, and Mauritius. Renowned for her expertise in advanced nutritional therapy and patient-centred care, she has worked across diverse medical specialties including cardiology, oncology, intensive care, rehabilitation and gerontology, before specialising in early-life nutrition.

A graduate of Flinders University, Reena began her career in Australia’s public health system before advancing into specialist hospital, consultancy, and academic roles in New Zealand. Her extensive practice has focused on translating nutritional science into everyday solutions that empower people to make sustainable, health-enhancing choices. As Dietetic Practice Coordinator for the MSc Nutrition & Dietetics programme at Massey Univerisy, she led work-integrated learning, overseeing professional placement partnerships, supporting the development of students and workplace supervisors, and assessing student competency. Her contribution to healthcare education has been recognised through published research on student mental health and wellbeing in professional training contexts.

Now based in Mauritius, Reena leads Nutri-Licious, a private dietetics practice dedicated to personalised prenatal and paediatric nutrition care.

Reena’s career is distinguished by her evidence-driven approach and her holistic understanding of how culture, behaviour, and health intersect. She has developed clinical nutrition guidelines, delivered community programmes and collaborates closely with clinicians to optimise patient recovery and wellbeing. A passionate advocate for interprofessional collaboration and lifelong learning, she mentors emerging health professionals and contributes to international discussions on excellence in dietetic and healthcare practice.
