Antonio Sierra is a pioneering consultant midwife whose career embodies leadership, compassion, and innovation in maternity care. At West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, he leads transformation and research programmes that enhance the safety, quality, and inclusivity of maternity services across the NHS.

With extensive experience in midwifery education, clinical practice, and workforce development, Antonio is committed to evidence-based innovation and the empowerment of both staff and service users. His research interests include midwifery leadership, perinatal mental health, and patient experience improvement—areas where he has successfully implemented impactful quality initiatives.

A passionate advocate for equality and cultural competence in maternity care, he works closely with national policy groups to ensure women’s voices and experiences inform service design. His mentorship of midwives and contribution to professional development programmes continue to influence positive change across the NHS.
