Non-Clinical Excellence Award
Nominations may come from colleagues, managers, service users, or other staff who have directly benefited from the nominee’s behind-the-scenes contributions.
Excellent service provision doesn’t just happen at the point of care – behind the scenes are a dedicated group of individuals whose invaluable contributions are a critical part of the care framework.
Administrators, porters, estates, caterers, HR, finance, IT and more – without them the whole system would come grinding to a halt and this award is to recognise how excellence can be exhibited in a multitude of ways that will ultimately impact on care provision.
What we are looking for in this award:
Tell us about an individual whose unseen contribution is critical to the way in which your organisation functions for patients. In particular we are looking to understand:
- Behind the scenes impact – How does their work directly help improve patient care or support clinical staff? Explain the connection between their role and frontline care, including specific examples of how their work enables better patient outcomes.
- Reliable Excellence – What shows they consistently perform their role to an exceptional standard? Provide as much information as you can that might include performance metrics, audit results, error rates, completion times, or recognition for consistency.
- Problem Solving – What kind of challenges have they addressed or solutions have they developed – and what were the impact of these improvements?
- Team Recognition – What have colleagues, managers, or service users said about their valuable contribution? Include testimonials that demonstrate the difference their work makes.
- Going Further – Do they regularly do more than their job description requires? Maybe there are additional reponsibilities that they take on, or support colleagues in their work – we’d like to hear all the details.
