Educator / Training Initiative of the Year Award

Inspiring and enthusing a generation of professionals to achieve their best potential is a critical part of the health and social care ecosystem. This award is to recognise individuals or organsiations which tackle this challenge head-on and excel in the field of knowledge transfer.

We want to know all about how a person, department or intiative is developing staff to the best of their abilities and celebrate this accordingly.

What we are looking for in this award

  • Excellent Teaching – What makes their teaching, mentoring, or training particularly effective or special? Consider their teaching methods, ability to explain complex concepts, responsiveness to different learning styles, or innovative approaches.
  • Learner Success – What proof shows that people learn better, feel more confident, or perform better because of their teaching? Include pass rates, competency assessments, learner feedback scores, or evidence of improved performance in practice.
  • New Ideas – What innovative or creative methods have they used to help people learn? Describe new technologies, teaching techniques, simulation exercises, or creative approaches they’ve developed or adapted.
  • Future Impact – How have the people they taught or trained gone on to succeed in their careers? Consider career progression of former students, awards won by mentees, or leadership positions achieved by those they’ve trained.
  • Learner Voices – What do students, trainees, or colleagues say about learning from them? Include direct quotes from learner evaluations, testimonials from mentees, or feedback about their teaching approach.

Who can nominate and how?

Nominations may come from students, trainees, colleagues, or senior leaders who have observed the effectiveness of the teaching or training initiative.
