Innovation & Research Award
Health and social care can’t stand still – it needs to innovate to meet the needs of a changing world and this award is to celebrate those who are pushing forward the boundaries of care. This can be an individual or team that have pioneered reseach, new approaches or have created projects that advance health and social care outcomes.
Do you know of a project that has thought outside the box to benefit the healthcare landscape in Mauritius? We want to know all about it.
What we are looking for in this award:
Tell us about a project that has genuinely improved service, knowledge, practise or outcomes – here’s what we are looking to understand:
- Original Work –What makes this innovation or research new and important to health or social care? Explain what problem it addresses, how it differs from existing approaches, and why it matters to patients, staff, or services.
- Actually Used – How has this work been put into practise, and where is it being used? Describe implementation sites, number of users, rollout plans, or organisations that have adopted the innovation.
- Proven Benefits – What evidence shows this innovation or research has improved outcomes or services? Include data on clinical outcomes, cost savings, patient satisfaction, staff efficiency, or quality improvements.
- Can Be Copied – How could other organisations or areas adopt this innovation or research? Consider the transferability, scalability, resources required, or support available for others to implement it.
- People Involved – How were patients, staff, or communities included in developing or testing this work? Describe consultation processes, user involvement in design, feedback mechanisms, or co-production approaches.
Who can nominate and how?
Nominations can be made by peers, supervisors, academic or professional collaborators, or organisational leaders who are familiar with the project or research.
