Staff Wellbeing & Leadership Award

Inspirational leaders recognise that looking after their staff brings a huge range of benefits – increasing resilience, boosting morale and ensuring retention to name but a few. Initiatives that support this wellbeing are vital to intense working environments and we want to champion either an individual who embodies these values or an organisation that put them at the heart of their workplace ethics.

What are we looking for in this award?

This is a broad topic that might encompass differing methodologies so there is no one size fits all approach…. But here are some of the characteristics that are likely to feature in the workplace:

  • Demonstration of wellbeing – Staff are happy! So what evidence can you show that wellbeing, morale and job satisfaction are high or improving due to new measures? Consider supporting information such as staff surveys, retention, absence and exit interview feedback or any other wellbeing indicators you can think of.
  • Inspirational leadership – How does leadership factor into the workplace environment? This might be cultural within an organisation or specific to an outstanding individual – supporting, motivating and mentoring to allow staff to fulfil their potential.
  • Supportive environment – The workplace matches the people – positive and supportive. Can you point to specifics on how this has been achieved? It might be the physical environment, flexible working arrangements, team-building activities or cultural changes.
  • Innovation in wellbeing – Is this support innovative and evolving? We’d love to hear about a culture of creativity when it comes to supporting staff, so tell us about new initiatives, support services, flexible policies and how a leader or organsation adapts in a changing world.
  • Measurable impact – Staff are eager to shout about it – so quotes, testimonials and feedback will all help build a great nomination.

Who can nominate and how?

Nominations can be submitted by colleagues, team members, managers, or staff who have experienced or benefited from the nominee’s leadership and wellbeing initiatives.
