Professor Laura Serrant CBE is an internationally respected leadership development and inclusive practice specialist, with over 35 years of experience spanning strategic leadership, policy, education, research, and executive governance across health and social care systems.

She works with organisations and current or aspiring leaders to lead with integrity and impact—supporting them to develop clear leadership blueprints, inclusive mindsets, and sustainable approaches that enhance organisational performance, workforce wellbeing, and professional fulfilment.

In recognition of her outstanding contribution to nursing and health policy, Prof. Serrant was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in the 2024 King’s Birthday Honours. She has been named by the Health Service Journal as a Top 50 Inspirational Woman in Healthcare, a BME Pioneer, and a Top Clinical Leader, and was ranked Number 8 on the Powerlist UK of the 100 most influential Black people in the UK.

A BBC Expert Woman, published author, and sought-after panellist, Prof. Serrant is a trusted expert commentator with extensive broadcast media experience. Her work is underpinned by her research-based ‘Silences’ Framework’ and The Lioness Effect™ models, which create space for leadership success informed by equity, integrity and delivering Impact; reflecting her long-standing commitment to the principle of “lift as you climb.”

Prof. Serrant has held senior academic and executive leadership roles including Regional Head of Nursing at Health Education England, Professor of Nursing at Sheffield Hallam University, Head of Nursing at The Manchester Metropolitan University, and Chair of Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust. She has also served as a Non-Executive Director on NHS Trust boards, with a focus on quality, risk, audit, and equality, diversity, and inclusion.
