Professor Joanne Bosanquet MBE

Professor Joanne Bosanquet MBE is a distinguished nurse leader, academic, and public health advocate whose career has been dedicated to advancing evidence-based practice, compassionate leadership, and the empowerment of the nursing workforce. As Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation of Nursing Studies (FoNS), she leads transformative programmes that support nurses and midwives to improve care through reflection, innovation, and shared learning.

With a career spanning more than 30 years, Professor Bosanquet has held senior roles across the NHS, Public Health England, and higher education. Her leadership is recognised nationally for driving workforce development, health protection, and system-wide collaboration. Awarded an MBE for her services to public health nursing, she has been instrumental in shaping policy, mentoring emerging leaders, and embedding evidence into everyday clinical practice.
