Valentine is a highly regarded senior Clinical and Human Resource (HR) professional with significant experience of working in various healthcare settings. He has worked for the National Health Service for over 20years. During that time, he has been instrumental in inspiring excellence in nursing care whilst leading teams in the acute hospitals and community services as Nurse, Matron and Associate Director of Nursing. He has changed nursing practice, with a particular passion for patient experience and safety and for coaching and developing the nurses of the future. Before taking a crucial role with the Human Resources leading and supporting the People Agenda.

At Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, he plays a pivotal role as member of the Trust Management Team, working in partnership with divisional leads, directors, and executive team, whilst developing a culture that fosters patient-centred care and that also promotes inclusion for people.

With a strong background in nursing practice, people practices and leadership, Valentine has championed clinical excellence. His coaching and mentorship has inspired countless practitioners to pursue excellence, empathy, and lifelong learning as core professional values.

Valentine’s leadership is characterised by his focus on inclusivity, teamwork, and personal growth. He is deeply respected for his calm presence, professional integrity, and unwavering belief in the power of education and integrity to transform healthcare outcomes. He is also a Florence Nightingale Foundation alumni.
