NouZetwals is the first national non-profit initiative in Mauritius dedicated to recognising and celebrating health and social care professionals. We organise a summit and awards to highlight excellence across the sector.

Anyone working in the health or social care sector (clinical, community, public, or private), students, or partner organisations can be nominated, depending on the categories open each year.

The inaugural NouZetwals ceremony is scheduled for 25 April 2026.

All responses to the pre- and post-awards surveys are anonymous. No personal data will be published or linked to your answers.

  • Volunteer: logistics, event organisation, communications, moderation, outreach, and more.
  • Brand Ambassador: represent NouZetwals in your networks, promote the initiative, and encourage nominations and engagement.

Yes. Beyond the ceremony, NouZetwals runs legacy programmes — leadership training, wellbeing support, youth engagement, and professional development — to create lasting impact.

Currently, yes. The initiative focuses on the Mauritian health and social care sector. However, through our network of ambassadors and collaborations, NouZetwals aims to expand regionally, including the Indian Ocean region and SADC countries.

No, all nominations are free! There should not be a financial barrier to recognizing our health and social care professionals.

Any individual, team or programme working in health & social care in Mauritius — clinical, non-clinical, volunteer, student and community roles are all welcome.

Nominations open on 1st November 2025 and continue through 9th January 2026. Join our Newsletter to receive notifications and reminders about nominations.

Entries close on 9 January 2026. Late entries are not normally accepted, so please submit before the deadline.

Minor edits are permitted during the open entry window — you’ll receive an edit link after submission. For changes after the window closes, contact info@nouzetwals.org

Read each award category description on the Awards Categories page; use the eligibility notes and the “Who can nominate and how?” guidance to match the nominee to the closest category.

Yes — you may submit the same nominee to multiple relevant categories, but tailor each entry to the specific criteria.

The judging panel comprises independent experts from health, social care, academia and the third sector; full bios are on the Judges page.

Entries are assessed against published criteria (Impact, Innovation, Scalability, Evidence and Presentation) using a structured scoring rubric and a multi-round process.

Shortlist announcements are scheduled for 20 March 2026 and winners are announced at the ceremony on 25 April 2026 (see timeline on the Awards page).
