Dr. Prahamsa Honooman is a dedicated practitioner with a strong focus on acute and critical care medicine. A graduate of the University of Mauritius and the University of Geneva, he brings together solid academic grounding and practical experience in managing a wide range of medical and surgical conditions.

He currently serves as a Specialised Resident Medical Officer in the Intensive Care Unit, where he provides expert care to critically ill patients and leads multidisciplinary teams through complex, high-pressure situations with professionalism, precision, and compassion. His leadership has been instrumental in strengthening hospital preparedness, modernising critical care practices, and championing evidence-based approaches to improve outcomes in emergency and intensive care services.

Beyond his clinical responsibilities, Dr. Honooman is deeply committed to expanding access to quality healthcare. As Co-founder of Prevensia, a home-healthcare service, he promotes a more preventive, personalised, and accessible approach to medical care — bridging the gap between hospital treatment and community wellbeing.

A passionate educator, he also serves as a part-time lecturer at the University of Mauritius, where he mentors emerging clinicians and instils in them the values of ethical practice, accountability, and empathy.
