Suman Shrestha MBE is an internationally acclaimed critical care nurse, educator, and global health leader recognised for his outstanding contribution to nursing, workforce development, and international collaboration.

As Consultant Nurse for Critical Care at Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust and Executive Board Member of the World Federation of Critical Care Nurses (WFCCN), he has dedicated his career to advancing excellence in critical care and strengthening professional standards worldwide.

Awarded the Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) for services to nursing during the COVID-19 pandemic, Suman’s leadership and clinical expertise were instrumental in supporting critical care teams through one of the most challenging periods in modern healthcare. His work was pivotal in shaping national policies for workforce preparedness, safety, and wellbeing, ensuring that frontline nurses were equipped and supported to deliver life-saving care under extraordinary circumstances.

With a career spanning more than two decades, Suman has become a respected voice in global nursing leadership, contributing to education and advocacy initiatives across Europe, Asia, and Africa. His work with the WFCCN and international partners continues to influence the development of sustainable critical care training and equitable access to high-quality care in low- and middle-income countries.
